Chelsea Krost Returns from Africa

Dot Girl First Period Products and Chelsea Krost, the 18 year old creator and host of a radio show just for teens called Teen Talk Live, have combined efforts to support Africa’s HEART Freedom for Girls Program while continuing to encourage the importance of early period/feminine hygiene education amongst U.S. teens.

Dot Girl will donate 3% of the profits from each kit sold to HEART on a monthly basis through the remainder of 2009.

Africa’s HEART Freedom for Girls Program provides girls with undergarments, sanitary napkins and hygiene education.  If not for this program’s assistance, many girls would be absent up to five days of school a month due to lack of protection during their monthly cycle. A simple $5 donation provides one girl with an entire year’s supply of sanitary towels. Girls are enabled to stay in school full time, thus enhancing their participation in education.

In June of 2009 Chelsea and her family embarked on an inspiring philanthropic  mission to Nairobi, Kenya. Throughout the nine day mission, Chelsea and show  producer Cindi Krost hand delivered feminine hygiene product donations from Kotex®, Dot Girl First Period Products and The Scensible Source Company to the HEART Freedom for Girls Program and the Nyumbani Children’s Home.
